We finally had a bit of proper snow in Toronto today!
Yes I’m a freak. Bad weather cheers me up.
I was walking to work from the subway, sipping a mediocre chai latte, with Patrick Wolf’s voice having sweet sweet sex with my ear drums, and the light drizzle turned to sleet to snow, and it was lovely, and totally made up for me having to wake up early and get out in the cold without...
Can someone pay me to stay home and read books?
I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. I want to finish rereading “The Hobbit”, and start “The Silmarillion”, and watch “Submarine” and steampunk shorts.
Why can’t I do that?
Why the fuck not?

Moffat would be like, “Lol she was just the Teselecta pretending to be the TARDIS.”
I could be any of those discarded TARDISes on the Junkyard Planet though. Any. One. Of. Them.

O gosh uhm do you think it was wise to tell the entire Internet that you’re actually the TARDIS?

Isn’t that what paychecks are for? Buying more books? haha.

I’d say ‘Norwegian Wood’ is a good place to start. It’s not as surreal as some of his other stuff and he has a very easy going style.
Ooh I like surreal. I will start with “Norwegian Wood” though. Thanks :)

For John Green, start with Looking for Alaska. One novel I just finished was Iron Lake by William Kent Krueger. It’s a murder mystery set in Northern Minnesota in the winter. I had to read it and analyze it for my fiction writing class.
“Looking for Alaska” it is then. I keep catching...

You should read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, it’s just beautiful. And you’ve probably already read Owen Meany by John Irving, but if not, I’d definitely recommend it. Also, pretty much anything by Markus Zusak. (:
I was thinking of starting Foer with that one. I will definitely be putting it...

Have you read any Murakami?
I have not. And I am so very ashamed. Do you recommend a specific book to start with?

I want to read some new novels, by contemporary authors.
Care to recommend anything?
If I wanted to read John Green and/or Jonathan Safran Foer, where should I start?
Feel free to recommend anything at all.
I desperately need to update my “to read” list. Lately I’ve only been reading fantasy. And though I love fantasy, I need a little change.
