For those of you who don’t mind spoilers and speculation about Game of Thrones — this kind of blew my mind. I mean, I should have picked up on this. It seems so obvious now.

Jon has to be the connection between the North and South, between Ice and Fire. Lyanna and Rhaegar have to be his parents. It is the only pairing that makes sense. Which could also very possibly make him the Prince that was promised, the bringer of dawn etc, because part of the Night Watch’s oath has to do with their role of being the light against the darkness of the coming winter. The realm of Westeros has to join under Jon and Dany, the powers of Ice and Fire, to defeat the external threat of the Others.
